Schools of Innovation

Opportunities Open to All

Edgewood ISD is dedicated to providing our families with a diverse portfolio of school choice options that are specifically designed to provide a personalized learning approach for each of our unique students.  In EISD, students always have a choice when it comes to selecting their school.  Within our 5 Innovation Zones, students can choose from dynamic programs such as STEAM, Leadership, Single Gender, Public Service, Dual Language (one way or two way), PTECH, ECHS, Fine Arts, International Baccalaureate, and a college and career readiness program for 18+ special needs students. Edgewood ISD is an open-boundary school district; all students from the San Antonio Area can apply to an Edgewood School of Innovation.

International Baccalaureate

Through the partnership with Texas Council for International Studies (TCIS), Las Palmas Leadership School for Girls and Roy Cisneros Leadership School for Boys are Candidate Schools* for the PYP & MYP. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Edgewood believes is important for our students.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes.

Through the implementation of International Baccalaureate® (IB) program, these campuses - along with the Texas Council for International Studies - will promote their mission to develop internationally minded students who are caring, respectful, and mindful of intercultural interactions and differences. It is because of this that our students will be responsible, inquisitive, honest, and open-minded as they work hard to improve academically and personally.
